Under the regulations of UK and EU law, certain products with potentially hazardous properties must display warning information about these hazards on their packaging, a practice known as CLP (Classification, Labelling, and Packaging).

Not at all. Our essential oils are perfectly safe to use, – provided they are used as per the instructions advised on the packaging and the website. The primary reason these symbols are displayed is to warn consumers that possible skin sensitisation reactions may occur whilst using the product, the product may be flammable, or it may be an environmental hazard if the product were to be released into the environment.

Skin sensitisation occurs when repeated exposure to a specific chemical triggers an immune response. This typically results in an allergic skin reaction, causing inflammation, redness, bumps, and sensations like stinging, burning, or itching. Some naturally occurring allergens in essential oils can contribute to skin sensitisation over time. If you experience any signs of skin sensitisation while using our products, discontinue use immediately.
